10. Peugeot 107

Peugeot has offloaded 1,536 107s, making up 48 per cent of the 3,200 cars
sold to date since the scheme started in the middle of May.



9. Suzuki Alto

Suzuki's Indian-built hatch has only been on sale in the UK for a few months,
but the scrappage incentive has shifted 1,600 of them to date.
That's exactly 50 per cent of the 3,200 cars sold in total.

8. Honda Jazz

Honda might have only sold 2,715 cars through the 'cash for clunkers' programme,
but 65 percent of those were the Jazz - 1,764 to be precise,
placing the Japanese hatch a creditable eighth.



7. Nissan Micra
Nissan's Sunderland-built Micra has clocked up 1,800 sales in barely over a month,
making up 60 per cent of the 3,000 Nissan sold through the scheme so far.
Nissan admitted these figures weren't entirely up to date
either - so the Micra could be riding even higher by now!

6. Vauxhall Corsa

Vauxhall might have been offloaded by GM recently but it seems the popularity of
its cars are unaffected! The Corsa has racked up 1,876 orders - or 48 per cent of
all Vauxhall's scrappage sales - good enough for sixth place.



5. Renault Clio

You'd be forgiven for thinking the smaller and cheaper Twingo would be leading the charge for Renault.
But it's the recently facelifted Clio which has been winning over the scrappers.
From a total of 2,815 Renaults sold so far, a comprehensive 75 per cent or 2,111 of those were Clios.

4. Toyota Yaris

According to Toyota, the Yaris and Aygo have been battling it out all month to
claim Toyota's top spot. But in the latest round of results its the Yaris which has its nose
in front with 2,500 orders from a total of 8,000.



3. Ford Fiesta

Ford was one of the first companies to embrace the scrappage scheme with open arms...
And you can see why! From a grand total of 7,500 cars sold through the scheme so far,
37 per cent or 2,775 of those are Fiesta's, placing it on the third tier of our podium.

2. Hyundai i10
If our ranking system was based on total scrappage sales across the entire range,
Hyundai would be walking away with the prize. A total of 8,800 orders so far is more than
any other manufacturer. And it's the i10 that tops Hyundai's chart with 3,960 sold - around 45 per cent of the total.



1. Kia Picanto
And the best selling car through the scrappage scheme is... The Kia Picanto! Clocking up 70 per cent
of all Kia's scrappage orders - an incredible 5,500 Picantos have been sold in just over a month.
